La Membrolle-sur-Choisille est une commune du département de l’Indre-et-Loire dans la région Centre-Val de Loire, et fait partie du canton de Luynes.
Jusqu’en 1873, la Membrolle-sur-Choisille n’était qu’un hameau de la commune de Mettray. Ce hameau avait tellement grossi qu’il était devenu plus important que le hameau principal, notamment après la construction de l’église Notre-Dame-des-Eaux en 1847. Henri-Ernest Martell acquit le château de l’Aubrière en 1864, et a précipité la séparation des bourgs en deux communes indépendantes. M Martell fut le maire de la Membrolle-sur-Choisille jusqu’en 1900, année de son décès.
La commune connaît un certain développement depuis les années 1970, porté par une croissance démographique soutenue par la proximité de la ville de Tours.
La Membrolle-sur-Choisille is a town located in the department of Indre-et-Loire in the region Center-Val de Loire, and is part of the township of Luynes.
Until 1873, the Membrolle-sur-Choisille was only a hamlet of Mettray. This hamlet had grown so large that it had become more important than the main hamlet, especially after the construction of the church Notre-Dame-des-Eaux in 1847. Henri-Ernest Martell acquired the Castle of l'Aubrière in 1864, and led to the separation of the boroughs into two independent communes. Mr. Martell was the mayor of La Membrolle-sur-Choisille until 1900, the year of his death.
The town has experienced some development since the 1970s, driven by a population growth due to the proximity of the city of Tours.
