Águas do Xisto da Figueira Traditional Geocache

A Rede das Aldeias do Xisto é um projeto de desenvolvimento sustentável, de âmbito regional, liderado pela ADXTUR- Agência para o Desenvolvimento Turístico das Aldeias do Xisto, em parceria com 21 Municípios da Região Centro e com cerca de 100 operadores privados que atuam no território.

Estado presentes em quatro Unidades de Paisagem (Serra da Lousã, Serra do Açor, Zêzere e Tejo-Ocreza), as Aldeias do Xisto representam um belíssimo património cultural e natural. Com vastas possibilidades que vão desde a gastronomia à etnografia, das ruralidades e da ligação à natureza e à floresta, as Aldeias do Xisto têm enorme potencial turístico e não só.

O projeto Geocaching Aldeias do Xisto propõe aumentar a oferta de pontos de interesse associados a esta prática da caça ao tesouro do sec. XXI. Pretende dotar cada aldeia com pelo menos duas caches e integrar algumas já existentes em circuitos e percursos pedestres.

The Schist Villages area is a region of Portugal’s interior that has successfully been promoted to tourists. The brand is managed by the ADXTUR association, the Agency for the Touristic Development of the Schist Villages, and brings together 21 Municipalities of the central region of Portugal, and more than 100 private local operations, which all share the common strategy of promoting and revitalising an area where schist stone dominates the landscape.

Present in four Landscape Units (Serra da Lousã, Serra do Açor, Zêzere and Tejo-Ocreza), the Schist Villages represent a beautiful cultural and natural heritage. With vast possibilities ranging from gastronomy to ethnography, rurality and the connection to nature and to the forest, the Schist Villages have enormous touristic potential, among others.

The Geocaching Schist Villages Project proposes to increase the offer of points of interest associated with this practice treasure hunting of the XXI century. It intends to equip each village with at least two caches and integrate some already existent in circuits and pedestrian routes.

A Aldeia do Xisto de Figueira, localiza-se no Concelho de Proença-a-nova. Nesta aldeia pode desfrutar da tranquilidade da mesma, pernoitando no alojamento da aldeia “Casa Ti Augusta” e saboreando uma refeição típica no restaurante que se dá pelo mesmo nome. Percorrendo as ruelas da aldeia, encontra um dos saberes mais genuínos das gentes locais, o saber fazer do pão no Forno Comunitário. É obrigatória a visita à Loja das Aldeias do Xisto da Figueira, onde pode adquirir uma lembrança local. Não vá embora sem tomar um chá ou uma bebida fresca na esplanada mesmo junto a estes três espaços. As flores envolventes embelezam e dão cor ao local. Na envolvência da aldeia, existem vários poços de água, que noutros tempos eram utilizados para fazer a rega dos terrenos agrícolas desta aldeia. Com algum cuidado e precaução encontre-os!

Aldeia do Xisto de Figueira is located in the municipality of Proença-a-nova. In this village you can enjoy its tranquillity, staying overnight in the accommodation of the village "Casa Ti Augusta", savouring a typical meal in the restaurant that goes by the same name. Walking along the village's alleys, you will find one of the most genuine knowledge of the local people, the know-how of making traditional bread in the Community Oven. It is mandatory to visit the shop of Aldeias do Xisto, where you can buy a local souvenir. Do not leave without having a tea or a cool drink on the terrace, right next to these three spaces. The surrounding flowers embellish and give colour to the place.In the surroundings of the village, there are several wells of water, which were once used to irrigate the agricultural lands of this village. With some care and precaution, find them!
