Henry Ford was born in this village on 30th May 1863, he left home in 1879 at 16 years old for Detroit to work as an apprentice machinist. From here on all is history from the 15 million Model T’s produced, up to today’s modern machines.
This monument was placed as a Millennium Project by Ballinascarthy Community Council.
