Geocache Description:

A Fine Pair Upton

Number 1247 in a series of caches where a red telephone box is in close proximity to a post box.

The only rules are that they have to be able to be photographed together, be not more than 100’ apart and the phone boxes have to be red.

The letter box is in the wall of the former Post Office. Unusually, the building is thatched. Look on the roof, can you see the owl? The letter box dates from George V reign and is a rare type. It is hard to be exact with the accurate number but between 35-50 of this type exist in the UK. The telephone kiosk is actually still in use although I bet a call has not been made from the TK for some time!
