The town of Alberta has a rich railroad history. Two major lines crossed here. The small town had a train station, hotels, stores food stops and a bank. when The rail lines closed down in the 70s the tracks were pulled up in the 80s. The town square has been turned into a small Park and a railroad caboose was donated to the community as a memorial to those days when the trains pass through this town. On your way South get off the highway come and take a look at the caboose. It's open for visitors almost all the time and is a nice piece in remembrance of the strong history this whole area had with the railroads.
