Walter Pettit
Walter Pettit was born in 1895 Horm-in-Sea Cambridge son of Harry and Louisa. On the 1911 census he lived at 64 Ibstock Road Ellistown. He worshipped at St John the Baptist Church and attended the school on grange road. He was a miner in Nailstone before the war.
He did not survive the war and was killed by an enemy shell in Mansion House Dump in 1917 Vermelles.
