Rīteru karjers (Urgu ūdenskrātuve) ir vietējiem iemīļota atpūtas vieta, kas vēl pirms 60 gadiem bija parasts priežu mežs. Tad ierīkots karjers no kura dolomīts iegūts arī Pļaviņu HES būvniecībai. Šajā karjerā ieguve veikta arī ar 1968. gadā būvētais 200t smagais ekskavators ekg 4,6 B, kuru šobrīd lieto Aiviekstes karjerā. Ieguves uzplaukuma laikā šeit bija nodarbināti ap 350 cilvēki. Kopš 1991. gada ieguve vairs nenotiek. Kopš 2012. gada karjera Rietumu galā AS "Latvijas valsts meži" ierīkojuši 6 atpūtas vietas ar galdu un ugunskura vietu. Var arī peldēties.
Slēpnis atrodas dolomīta klintī no kuras paveras skaists skats uz Rīteru karjera ūdenskrātuvi. Vienīgais legālais piekļuves ceļš ir atbraucot no tās puses, kur ir parkošanās waypoint. No otra krasta būs Privātīpašuma norādes. Vieta ir zveinieku iemīļota, bet arī pastaigai patīkama. Augsta ūdens līmeņa gadījumā var nebūt pilnībā pieejama vai var nākties mērcēt kājas (līdz ceļgaliem).

[ENG] Rīteri quarry (Urgi Reservoir) is favourite recreation place for locals which only 60 years ago was a simple pine forest. Then the quarry was established from which dolomite was also used for building of Hidro-electro-station Plaviņas. In this quarry the excavationwas performed by the 200 ton EKG 46B excavator (built in 1968) which continues to mine at the Aiviekste quarry today. In the peek of mining - aprox.350 people were employed here. Since 1991. mining is not happening any more. Since 2012 JSC "Latvia's State Forests" have landscaped the Western side of quarry by creating 6 rest places with fireplace and tables.. Available for swimming.
The cache is inside the dolomite rock from which you may observe the marvelous view to Rīteru quarry reservoir. The only legaly accesible road is from the side of Parking waypoint. From the other side of water reservoir there will be signs of Private property. Place is popular for fisherman but can also be enjoyed for a walk. In case of high water level may not be completely available or you might need to get your legs wet (till knees).
