Number 1184 in a series of caches where a red telephone box is in close proximity to a post box.
The only rules are that they have to be able to be photographed together, be not more than 100’ apart and the phone boxes have to be red.
Ahh Skenfrith! One of my favourite villages in the area - it's got it all really - a pretty church, a castle with a river flowing by (with it's own beachy area that is used by the locals in the summer), a pub (okay, a restauranty-type pub), a villager-owned part-time shop, a splendid rural setting and now a Fine Pair cache! What more could a village want?!
The Cache
The co-ords take you to the postbox (with the telephone opposite) which is the only item you need to visit - no need to go over the road to get to the phonebox. Just a couple of questions to answer below which go into the formula as normal to get the co-ords for the micro-sized cache, which is a couple of minutes walk away, and should show you a little of the village but shouldn't take too long.
Take a look at the front of the unusually-shaped postbox and the bottom left of the panel to see the three-digit number after 'NP7'. This is ABC
The third digit of the contact number line directly above this is D.
The fourth digit of the contact number is E.
The last digit of the contact number is F.
Pop your answers into the following formula to get the cache - N51 52.C(D-A)B W002 47.FED
The Fine Pair series was originally started by wizardsmum but is now managed by mattd2k
If anybody would like to place 'A Fine Pair' of their own please do. I would just ask that you first visit www.afinepair.co.uk to request a number to avoid any duplication
mattd2k also keeps a public Bookmark List of this series. Once your cache is published please contact him via geocachingafinepair@gmail.com to have yours added
