🇫🇷 Cette source d'un affluent de l'Hallue, le ruisseau de Vilaincourt, se trouve à Béhencourt et plus exactement dans l'ancien hameau de Vilaincourt. Ce hameau dépendait jusqu'au second Empire de Montigny sur l'Hallue qui s'appelait alors Montigny-Vilaincourt avant 1824 puis Montigny tout court. D'ailleurs en extrayant la tourbe, on a découvert les traces d'une voie sur pilotis reliant Vilaincourt et Montigny. Des armes de pierre, des poteries et monnaies de l'époque gallo-romaine ont été trouvées sur le territoire de Montigny. En effet, Vilaincourt était siège d'une seigneurie qui est encore mentionnée en 1789 mais le château avait déjà disparu bien avant la Révolution. Les archives départementales de la Somme conservent les sceaux d'Enguerrand de Vilaincourt et celui de sa femme Rense, datant de 1233.
La source jaillit de la craie en bas de la route. Elle apporte une eau fraîche appréciée de certains habitants pour leur consommation. Au début des années 2000 la source s'était presque tarie mais à la suite d'apports importants de terre pour agrandir le champ situé de l'autre côté de la route, elle s'est remise à couler. Le ruisseau est connecté à un réseau d'étangs avant de se jeter après quelques 500 m dans l'Hallue.

🇬🇧 This source of a tributary to the Hallue river, the Vilaincourt brook, is located in Béhencourt and more precisely in the ancient hamlet of Vilaincourt. Until the second Empire, this hamlet belonged to Montigny sur l'Hallue which was then called Montigny-Vilaincourt (until 1824) or simply Montigny. When extracting peat, traces of an ancient causeway between Montigny and Vilaincourt were discovered. Stone weapons, potteries und gallo-roman coins were discovered in Montigny parish. Vilaincourt had a manor whose title was still mentioned in 1789 though the buildings have disappeared long before the French revolution. The Somme departmental archives keep the seals of Enguerrand de Vilaincourt et of his wife Rense from 1233.
The source springs from the chalk below the road. Elle carries fresh water which is appreciated by some inhabitants for their consumption. At the beginning of the 2000s the source fell nearly dry but after the disposal of large amounts of soil for enlargement of the field on the other side of the road, it began to flow again. The brook is connected to a series of ponds before it flows into the Hallue after some 500 m.

🇩🇪 Diese Quelle eines Zuflusses der Hallue, dem Vilaincourt-Bach, findet sich im Dorf Béhencourt und genauer gesagt im ehemaligen Weiler Vilaincourt. Bis in die zeit des zweiten französischen Kaiserreichs gehörte der Weiler zu Montigny sur l'Hallue, das damals bis 1824 Montigny-Vilaincourt und danach einfach Montigny hieß. Beim Torfabbau wurden Spuren eines Pfahlweges zwischen Montigny und Vilaincourt entdeckt. Auf dem Gemeindegebiet wurden Steinwaffen, Tonwaren und gallorömische Münzen entdeckt. Vilaincourt war der Sitz einer mittelalterlichen Grundherrschaft, die noch bis 1789 erwähnt wurde, obwohl das Herrenhaus schon lange vor der französischen Revolution verschwunden war. Das Departementsarchiv der Somme besitzt die Siegel von Enguerrand de Vilaincourt und von seiner Frau Rense aus dem Jahre 1233.
Die Quelle entspringt dem Kreidegrund unterhalb der Straße. Das kühle Wasser wird von manchen Einwohnern als Trinkwasser geschätzt. Zu Beginn der 2000er Jahre war die Quelle fast trockengefallen, aber nach dem Aufbringen großer Erdmassen zum Vergrößern des Feldes auf der gegenüberliegenden Straßenseite begann sie wieder zu fließen. Der Bach ist mit einigen Teichen verbunden bevor er nach gut 500 m in die Hallue mündet.
