Geocache Description:

A food and geochat caching meetup for regulars and newbies, in the surroundings of the Ikea Restaurant in Dublin.

When I first set up Swedish Breakfast five years ago, geocaching was in a different place to where it is now. There were far fewer events, and the idea of a "Meet & Greet" was in its infancy. I resolved to throw in a Breakfast any time there were no other events scheduled for Dublin, so people always had something to look forward to geocaching-wise. This never came about, eventing took off and in those five years, there has always been something upcoming in the calendar. However, I have noticed that, as of submission, there is nothing scheduled in Dublin other than 30 minute tourist Meet & Greets at the moment. That needs to be resolved, and I'm free this Sunday.

Sunday 7th October is the date for the emergency hearing of the Swedish Breakfast case. On trial will be bacon, eggs, coffee and maybe some healthy options if the court allows. So come join us early Sunday morning to fill your stomach, have your fill of geochat, and fill your mind with ideas for Sunday caching!

The Swedish Breakfast series is one of Dublin and Belfasts regular events, taking place every few months... ample time to have tried the hints gleaned from the previous meetup! So come join us for breakfast in Dublin on Sunday, 7th October from 930am until 1130am. That said, we have been known to stay past lunchtime and if anyone shows up after the official end I will of course keep the logbook open. We'll meet in the restaurant on the very top floor of Ikea (go in via the main entrance under the building and just follow the escalators) at one of the tables. The restaurant opens at 930am and I will have my food and be seated at about 945am. We typically sit in the same place everytime, so look towards the seats to the right by the wall (not the windows) as you walk away from the tills.

There is however, absolutely no requirement to buy food or drink at the venue; however I would imagine it is hard to watch other people tearing into bacon and sausages when you're having nothing... There is plenty of healthier food available, but I just can't resist a good fry....

This will be an opportunity to help travel bugs and geocoins on their way as well as eat a hearty breakfast ready for your own Sunday caching adventures. Bring your own personal coin/bug selection for discovery and bring your questions about that annoying puzzle along too. You may (or may not) get help! If you have any plans for upcoming caches, this event would be a great time to discuss them with the group. If you're thinking of going to your first event, come along! If you're thinking of a days shopping, why not tie it in with an event cache??

As an aside, there is a very, very small chance my muggle parents may be coming up this weekend too so if they do come, be nice. Their attendance is doubtful, but they may peruse Ikea while we're having our event. We'll see.

To/from the event:
There is an absolutely incredible amount of free parking in the Ikea carpark so car is by far the best way to get here. Sporadic buses (13/13A) will get you to Ikea, even at this hour on a Sunday.

Please note this one is in DUBLIN! Northern cachers please bear in mind it is about a ninety minute drive at the speed limit to the Dublin Ikea from the outskirts of Belfast. There will be a Belfast one at some point in the next while though, I haven't forgotten....
