A Geocaching Christmas Party for all that want to attend will be held at McKay's Ranch House Restaurant in Kilgore,Tx. on December 08,2018. I need RSVP on who all will attend so the restaurant has a head count. Gift Exchange, Cache Exchange, Door Prizes, Great Food and Fellowship.
Well it’s that time, again. Time to get together and have a few laughs; swap a few lies (how high did you have to climb?), chow down on some great vittles, renew some old friendships, and make a few new ones. It's time for the 14th Annual (Can you believe its been 14 years since this event tradition first started.
Down Home Cachers' Reunion. MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR SATURDAY, DECEMBER 08th. We read each other's logs, cheer on your successes, and laugh at your failures (actually we are laughing with you because we have been there and done that same stupid thing). Well, don't miss this opportunity to put a face with a name. This will be the second year at this location. We will have our own party room. There is a buffet, salad bar and dessert bar. You can also order steaks and other items from the menu. I am told that the buffet for 12 yrs old to adult is $12.78 (includes meal,drink and tax) , and children up 11 yrs old is $8.23 (includes meal,drink and tax). Tips you need to provide. The plan is to begin gathering at 5:30 P.M. and start eating as soon as you arrive. Party starts at about 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. The restaurant closes at 8:30 P.M.
This is a family oriented sport, so, of course, the entire family is invited. Children are certainly welcome. So are Granny and Gramps (probably best to leave the pets at home] I know they geocache too, but unless you can convince the manager that you really need your pet for vision purposes. Your going to have to leave them in the car]). You can bring Muggles, they don't have to stay in the car with the pets. The restaurant is a good down-home style so don't worry about getting all duded-up - casual is the key word. . so I would expect that that would be the latest this event would last (that is unless you forget your wallet - plenty of dishes to wash after closing time). As far as entertainment goes, there will be a few door prizes – just like last year, so if any of you have a door prize to donate to the cause, please do. As in the past, we will also have a cache exchange.
Bring a clever cache container, a hand made container, or a ready-to-go cache. Those who bring a cache will leave with something new to hide.
Homemade or clever caches are suppose to be creative. Use your imagination there will be a judging contest and prizes awarded,. the creative caches will be traded among cachers who brought a creative cache. Ok I'm not looking for just a plain duct taped pill bottle ,tup container ,or ammo can. Use your Imagination and WOW me.
Christmas gift exchange is a gift for a Adult to a Adult and Kids gift for a Kid.
Christmas is right around the corner. Last year’s gift exchange was a hit, so we will once again end the evening with this tradition. If you choose to participate, you will need to bring a wrapped gift (one for each person in your group who wants to participate). The gift may or may not be associated with caching (be creative), and you probably shouldn’t spend more than $15.00 or so for it (but you can do whatever you want). After 10 years the suggested gift level was increased from ten to fifteen dollars. Inflation will do that. If you think you can make this event, post a note to this cache so that we have some idea as to what to expect. Also, please make sure that as many geocachers as possible know of the event. There are a bunch of ex-muggles who are now cachers this year(in fact at one point in time we were all Muggles). Why don't you drop them a line and invite them. Don't assume they will see this cache page. Ya'll come on out and enjoy some good company and interesting stories told by geocachers.
