Na Vodah, pred staro rudniško restavracijo, kjer se stekajo ceste iz vseh mestnih naselij, so 29. novembra 1952 odkrili mogočen spomenik, ki je plod sodelovanja že izkušenega arhitekta Borisa Kobeta (arhitekturna zamisel) in mladega diplomanta ljubljanske likovne akademije, kiparja Stojana Batiča (figuralna skupina). Spomeniško celoto dopolnjuje žara, skorajda obvezni dodatek spomenikom tega časa. Postavljena je na ploščad sredi spiralnega loka in okrašena z reliefnimi prizori iz življenja rudarjev. Pripovedno snov je kipar črpal iz revolucionarnega zgodovinskega časa in jo simbolično zgostil v treh personifikacijah.
Figura na sredini predstavlja spopad z Orjuno, žena z otrokom v naročju predstavlja rudarske stavke in socialni boj, borec s puško pa vojni čas. Vsi trije akterji so upodobljeni v akciji in povezani z odločnim korakanjem naprej. Telesa so ovita v težka, vihrajoča oblačila. Obrazna fizionomija vseh treh protagonistov je poenotena do te mere, da jih doživljamo kot en portret v treh osebah.
On November 29, 1952, a magnificent monument was discovered on the Voda River, in front of an old mining restaurant, where roads from all urban settlements flow, which is the result of the collaboration of an experienced architect Boris Kobet (architectural idea) and a young graduate of the Ljubljana Academy of Visual Arts, sculptor Stojan Batič figural group). The memorial unit is complemented by a grill, almost a compulsory addition to the monuments of this time. It is mounted on a platform in the middle of a spiral arc and decorated with relief scenes from the life of miners. The narrative material was sculpted by a sculptor from a revolutionary historical era and symbolically thickened in three personifications.
The figure in the middle represents the clash with Orjuno, a woman with a child in her lap represents mining strikes and social struggles, while the fighter with a rifle is a military time. All three actors are depicted in action and are connected with decisive march forward. The bodies are wrapped in heavy, swollen clothes. The facial physiognomy of all three protagonists is unified to the extent that we are perceived as one portrait in three persons.
