Mulligans Flat Woodland Sanctuary was created in 2009 and is currently being expanded to more than triple its size. It has been established as a safe sanctuary for endangered animals. Since that time endangered species including the Eastern Quoll and Bettongs have been introduced into this safe environment. Indeed, programs were undertaken to breed them and release them into this 'wild' habitat - minus the predators.
At this location you will find yourself at one of the enclosures that was used for these purposes. Currently it is being used on and off, for acclimatising new flocks of Bush Stone Curlews and getting them settled and ready for release. It is lovely walking through this native woodland - enjoy your visit.
The cache itself is a little ways away from the enclosure. If you go for a closer look, approach with caution as not to potentially startle any local residents!
