This fall, as this is the first day of autumn, we'll do some CITO along the Froggy Hollow Trail in Little Bennett Regional Park. Parking and starting point is at the posted coords. There is plenty of parking, but on nice days, the parking lot does fill up. To try and avoid that, this CITO Event will begin at 6:30 am and end at 8:30 am, Saturday, September 22, 2018.
We'll hike the natural surface trail for about a half mile, to the location of the Kingsley Schoolhouse. We'll collect any and all trash in the parking lot area, along the trail, and around the schoolhouse. The schoolhouse itself will not be open for visitors, but it is worth the hike just to see it.
I will supply trash bags, latex gloves, ice cold water and donuts. Hope to see you there. Children are welcome and the trail to the schoolhouse is flat. NO HILLS!! There is a creek to cross to get to the schoolhouse, but THERE IS A BRIDGE!! Rain or shine. I will take responsibility at removing all of the trash we collect. There are picnic tables and jiffy johns located near the parking lot. If anyone is interested, there is a camping site in Little Bennett. For info see their website: https://www.montgomeryparks.org/parks-and-trails/little-bennett-regional-park/
Keep searching, have fun, and BE SAFE!!!
