Geocache Description:

***This cache is a 3-stage teamwork cache. It is not located at the posted coordinates.***

This cache, "the California cache," is a partner cache with GC7WY70, Utah and California Teamwork, "the Utah cache," located in Fruit Heights, Utah, which was placed by my partner Team Christiansen.

To find this California cache, you will need to find a partner who will be looking for the Utah cache. The teamwork comes into play as you help your partner find the Utah cache, and your partner helps you find the California cache, without either one of you traveling to the other state.

No throwdowns, please.

Find a partner: You may obtain a partner by posting a Write note log on the Utah cache page requesting a Utah partner, from which someone will respond to you using the Message Center. Or you may respond, via the Message Center, to a Utah geocacher who has posted a Write note log on the California cache page requesting a California partner.

Exchange information with your partner: Once you have a partner, you and your partner will find and exchange information with each other that will lead you to the California cache and your partner to the Utah cache.

Find the cache and sign the log: Once you find the California cache, you should not sign the name of your partner in the California cache, nor should your partner sign your name for you in the Utah cache logbook. You may not post a Found it log on the Utah cache page unless you physically visit the Utah cache and sign its logbook, nor may your partner post a Found it log on the California cache page unless they physically visit the California cache and sign its logbook. However, be sure to give your Utah partner credit in your online Found it log.

The posted coordinates will bring you to a small neighborhood park open from sunrise to sunset. You can park in the designated area and take a short walk through the park to gather the information needed to figure out the coordinates to give to your partner cacher in Utah.

Stage 1:

There is a sign, PARK RULES OF CONDUCT, at the posted coordinates. Use only the last 4 digits of phone numbers when calculating your answers.

  • Who do you contact in case of an emergency? Subtract the first two digits from the last two digits. This is A
  • What is the last digit of the phone number to contact for information regarding park reservations or permits? This is B
  • What is the last digit of the phone number for the Fairfield Police Department? This is C
  • All of the offcial phone numbers listed begin with the number D
  • Rule #E requires a permit to sell, advertise, or announce.

Coordinates for Stage 2 are: N 38 16.ABC W 122 03.DED (Checksum N (A+B+C)=11, W (D+E+D)=20)

Proceed to Stage 2. Note the first word engraved or embossed on the utility pole. Enter this keyword in the checker below to reveal the final coordinates and cache location for your Utah partner.

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.

Stage 3:

Exchange coordinate information with your Utah partner, who will have the final coordinates for this California cache. Go find it and sign the log!
