Vieta. Šis ceļš, kas ved cauri Saulkalnes ciematam, tiek lēsts, ka bijis vecais Ogres ceļš, pirms ir uztaisīts A6 lielceļš. Tas liekas ticami, ja reiz ir bijis pat krogs ceļa malā! Vēsturisko info daudz neizdevās atrast, bet daži fakti ir!
Šis krogs bijis iekļauts Valsts aizsardzībā esošo pieminekļu sarakstā kā kultūras piemineklis, bet, pamatojoties uz to, ka no kroga palikušas drupas un tas ir avārijas stāvoklī, ar Kultūras ministrijas 2007.gada rīkojumu, piemineklis no saraksta ir izslēgts.
Pagājušajā gadsimtā te bijusi arī zirgu pasta stacija. Sākumā kroga īpašnieks bija Rīgas pilsēta, 19.gadsimta nogalē Mārtiņš Bode, bet 1914.gadā Brese. Pirmā pasaules kara laikā kroga celtnes nopostīja, bet 20-os gados dzīvojamo ēku atjaunoja.
Slēpnis. Ņemot vērā drupu stāvokli, lūdzu to apbrīnojat ar acīm, nekur jārāpjas nav, nekas jāplēš nav! Rakstāmo ņemat savu līdzi! Būsim saudzīgi pret apkārtējo vidi!
