Geocache Description:

***This cache is a 3-stage teamwork cache. It is not located at the posted coordinates.***

This cache, "the Utah cache," is a partner cache with GC7VPWD, Georgia/Utah Teamwork Multi, "the Georgia cache," located in Atlanta, Georgia, which was placed by my partner J Grouchy.

To find the Utah cache, you will need to find a partner who will be looking for the Georgia cache. The teamwork comes into play, as you help your partner find the Georgia cache, and your partner helps you find the Utah cache, without either one of you traveling to the other state.

No throwdowns, please.

Find a partner: You may obtain a partner by posting a Write note log on the Georgia cache page requesting a Georgia partner, from which someone will respond to you using the Message Center. Or you may respond, via the Message Center, to a Georgia geocacher who has posted a Write note log on the Utah cache page requesting a Utah partner.

Exchange information with your partner: Once you have a partner, you and your partner will find and exchange information with each other that will lead you to the Utah cache and your partner to the Georgia cache.

Find the cache and sign the log: Once you find the cache, you should not sign the name of your partner for them in the Utah cache, nor should your partner sign your name for you in the Georgia cache logbook. You may not post a Found it log on the Georgia cache page unless you physically visit the Georgia cache and sign its logbook, nor may your partner post a Found it log on the Utah cache page unless they physically visit the Utah cache and sign its logbook. Be sure to give your Georgia partner credit in your online Found it log.

Stage 1: The posted coordinates are at the Fernwood Picnic Area. Look around this area to answer the following questions:

  • A = How many parking spaces are there in the immediate area of this lot?
  • B = How many more parking spaces are there on the other side of the loop near the larger group of picnic tables?
  • C = How many picnic tables are there? Don't forget to look north of the restrooms.
  • D = How many benches are at the viewing area?
  • E = How many fence posts are at the viewing area?
  • F = How many benches without tables are there in the larger picnic area?
  • G = How many seats are there in the restroom building?
  • H = How many windows are in the restroom building?

Stage 2: Based on the answers to the Stage 1 questions, the Stage 2 coordinates are:

N 41° 0(A-5).(B-3)(C-2)D' W 111° 5(E-2).(F-5)(G-2)(H-2)'

At Stage 2, you will find information that your partner will need to find the Georgia cache final stage. Similarly, your partner will find, at one of the Georgia cache stages, information that you will need to find the Utah cache final stage. Exchange this information with your partner.

Stage 3: Using your partner's information, find the Utah cache final stage.
