La República de los Niños es un parque temático y educativo ubicado en el barrio Manuel Gonnet, en La Plata, Argentina. Este complejo, considerado el primer parque temático de América, y el más importante de Suramérica, reproduce un conglomerado urbano y rural en una escala acorde a niños de 10 años de edad, con todas las instituciones correspondientes al sistema democrático republicano: parlamento, casa de gobierno, palacio de justicia, iglesia, puerto, teatro, aeropuerto, restaurantes, hoteles, etc.
La República de los Niños fue construida por el Instituto Inversor de la Provincia de Buenos Aires en 53 hectáreas, parte de un predio que perteneciera al campo de golf «Swift Golf Club». Fue inaugurada oficialmente el 26 de noviembre de 1951 por el entonces presidente Juan Domingo Perón.1
En el proyecto oficial, el inspirador de la idea, Cnel. Domingo Mercante, Gobernador de la provincia y fundador del Instituto Inversor de la Provincia de Buenos Aires, proponía: «Deseamos poner al niño en un medio de alegre esparcimiento, en directo contacto con las responsabilidades ciudadanas del futuro, para que cuando llegue a hombre sea un argentino consciente de sus deberes, derechos y obligaciones. A la par que tenga para sus primeros años un recuerdo amable e imperecedero, y así forme a sus vástagos más buenos y generosos».
El lugar es ideal para ir a pasar el dia, hacer un picnic, subirse a los juegos mecanicos, recorrer los distintos edificios, sacarse fotos, etc
Abierto de lunes a viernes de 10 a 18 hs. Sabados, Domingos y Feriados de 9 a 19 hs.

The Republic of the Children was built by the Investor Institute of the Province of Buenos Aires on 53 acres, part of an estate that belonged to the golf course "Swift Golf Club". It was officially opened on 26 November of 1951 by then President Juan Domingo Peron.
In the official project, inspired the idea, Colonel Domingo Mercante, governor of the province and founder of Investor Institute of the Province of Buenos Aires, suggested: "We put the child in half cheerful entertainment, in direct contact with civic responsibilities of the future, so that when a man is an Argentine dutiful, rights and obligations. The ideal place to go to spend the day, have a picnic, ride the mechanical games, visit the different building, take pictures, etc.
