Calcarele de la Valea Mica
[RO] Rezervaţia Calcarele de la Valea Mică, situată administrativ în oraş Zlatna, sat Valea Mică, este o rezervaţie geologică, constituită din două blocuri calcaroase, cel din est având înălţimea de 20m, iar cel din vest de 12m, ce domină maiestuos depozitele de fliş intens erodate. Suprafaţa rezervaţiei este de 1ha. Aria de interes ştiinţific o reprezintă cele două blocuri de calcare ce străjuiesc pârâul Valea Mică şi drumul alăturat. Zona tampon cuprinde terenul din jur pe o rază de 100 m în cuprinsul căreia să nu se amplaseze construcţii care să afecteze efectul peisagistic
Scopul principal al Rezervaţiei Calcarele de la Valea Mică este cel de conservare a diversităţii geologice . De asemenea se urmăreşte excluderea şi prevenirea activităţilor de exploatare sau utilizare a resurselor naturale care contravin obiectivului de conservare, precum şi asigurarea de condiţii pentru activităţile educaţionale, recreative şi de cercetare ştiinţifică.
Aria Protejată Calcarele de la Valea Mică este delimitată în teren cu pătrat albastru pe fond alb.
Geologia – Kllipe calcaroase de vârstă jurasică care constituie o prezenţă insolită în depozitele haotice ale flişului din M-ţii Metaliferi. Sunt blocuri desprinse dintr-o faleză calcaroasă, alunecate pe taluzul continental şi însedimentate în formaţiunile cretacice de fliş, detaşându-se în relief prin eroziune selectivă
Relieful – rezervaţia este situată în partea central-sudică a M-ţilor Metaliferi, la contactul cu Munţii Vinţului. Ea se înscrie distinct în relief prin doi piloni masivi , secţionaţi de apa părăului Valea Mică sub forma unei mici chei, prin care se strecoară şi drumul comunal. Blocul de pe malul stâng, mai povârnit , are o înălţime de circa 16 m, iar blocul din dreapta, mai impozant, are forma unui pilon înalt de circa 30m, cu pereţi verticali, dedublate de un gheb mai scund.

The main purpose of the Valea Mică Limestone Reservoir is to preserve geological diversity. It also seeks to exclude and prevent the exploitation or use of natural resources that are contrary to the conservation objective and to provide conditions for educational, recreational and scientific research activities.
Protected Areas The limestone limestone is delineated in a field with a blue square on a white background.
Geology - Calcareous Klipea of Jurassic age, which is an insoluble presence in the chaotic deposits of the Metaliferi Mills. They are blocks detached from a limestone cliff, slid on the continental slope and set in the Cretaceous formations of fliş, detached into relief by selective erosion
Relief - the reservation is located in the central-southern part of the Metaliferi Mts, in contact with the Vintu Mountains. It is distinctly marked by two massive pillars, separated by the water of Valea Mica, in the shape of a small gorge, through which the communal road also flows. The block on the left bank, more tapering, has a height of about 16 m, and the block on the right, more impressive, takes the form of a 30 m high pillar, with vertical walls, subtracted by a shorter throat.
