Geocache Description:

Come join the GGA for a geo-poker run in the cool northeast Georgia mountains ! Our August event is at Black Rock Mountain State Park!

We will base at Picnic Shelter #1, near the Visitor Center (and an Earthcache!)

Schedule of events:

1:30-2:00: Meet and Greet, GGA Challenge winners, watermelon.
2:00 PM: Instructions, rules and Coordinates of 6 caches in poker run released! (Some are permanent caches, some are temporary caches for today's event only)
2:00-3:30: Poker Run! At each of the caches listed, there are small swag items (beads, buttons, etc). Bring one back from each of the six caches and exchange them for playing cards! You will be dealt one card for each of the swag items turned in. Make your best hand! (One poker hand per person to be submitted.
3:30-3:50: Poker Winners awarded, Announcements
4:00: Group Photo
Black Rock Mountain State Park is the highest state park in Georgia, with spectacular views of northeast GA mountains, 3 rivers, etc. For those pursuing the GA State Park challenge, the Gold Bonus cache is within Black Rock Mountain.

NOTE: The event is free, but you must either have a GA State Parks parking pass or pay $5 for a one-day parking pass.

Make a full weekend of it, and camp or stay in cottages! Stay tuned for other announcements and events in the area!
