The memorial is an obelisk which can be found beside the B1106 in front of Culford Village Hall. It commemorates the men from the Culford Estate who lost their lives in the First and Second World War.
The side nearest to the road is dedicated to the men from Culford, whilst the other 3 sides are dedicated to those from West Stow, Wordwell and Ingham. The inscriptions are becoming hard to read, which is a great shame, apart from those on the Culford side.
Due to the war memorial being situated right next to the village sign (which has its own cache), it will be necessary to take a little stroll to find the container for this one. The relevant information can be gleaned from the Culford side of the memorial (closest to the road). For this reason, please be mindful of geokids and geohounds.
The cache is hidden at N52 18.ABC E000 41.DEF where:
A = The number of men ranked L/C
B = The number of letters in Albert’s surname
C = The number of men whose first name begins with W
D = The number of men ranked Pte minus the number ranked Major
E = The number of men with Oliver as their first name
F = The number of letters in Pte Dorling’s first name minus the number of letters in the second Pte Clarke’s first name
