Meijer Branch - 101
The Meijer branch evolved out of the library headquarters for Jackson County Library established in 1928 and became the West Avenue branch with formation of the District Library. After consolidation, this active branch needed a better location. Fred Meijer, of the Meijer Thrifty Acres, Inc., donated the land to the Jackson District Library. The new building doubled the size of the library and provided better access and parking. The Meijer Branch opened in 1983 and service, as well as the building, has expanded along with the surrounding area.
Cache Seekers DO NOT need a library card nor make any purchases to participate in the Library's Geocache hides.
This 101 is being held at the request of the Meijer Branch and is open to everyone. Geocachers are encouraged to attend not only to get an event smiley, but to also help share their experience with other attendees. Look for geocaches to be placed in the area.
