Sadly, DavidNessie passed away on September 23, 2020 (funeral information can be found here). On March 19, 2022 the family transferred ownership of his 8 caches to Mister Doctor.
This is DavidNessie‘s fourth cache.
This cache is located in a small parkland nature reserve at the corner of Hilton St and High Street Rd Mount Waverley. Many years ago Hilton St exited into High Street Rd but as the intersection is on the crest of a hill and was a bit dangerous to exit into High Street Rd, Hilton St was closed. Parking is available at the small group of shops, corner of High Street Rd and Leeds Rd, to the west of Hilton St as parking in High Street Rd is not recommended. Alternatively, entry to this part of Hilton St is from Lechte Rd. There is a park bench seat for the leg weary to rest but the park is not secluded so wild life may not be abundant. There is plaque set into the footpath in High Street Rd to the east of the park which states, “SYNDAL. Sir Redmond Barry, KCMG, Chief Justice of Victoria named this property “SYNDAL” and lived here from 1869 - 1880. Syndal was developed as a country estate producing many fruits, herbs, flowers, vegetables and grapes eventually giving its name to this area. Placed as part of the Victoria 150 Celebrations in the City of Waverley by the students of Syndal High School, Autumn 1985.” Be aware that there is a vet practice here as well as some homes, so there maybe constant muggle traffic. You are looking for a 200ml systema container. Please leave the cache as found.
