This cache is placed is part of the Idlewild Park Restoration Project by the GCGC (Greater Charlotte Geocaching Club) Idlewild Park was once the center of the Geocaching Universe in Charlotte, NC. There was a large variety of cache types. Some were easy, some were very clever and some were down right Evil. This cache falls some where in the middle. I am using a area that previously hosted one of my early finds. The cache was nearly impossible to achieve in one trip, But my then 13 year old son and I managed to do it. (How we did it is still a secret) That cache is part of why I am hooked to this day. Please only search during park hours.
The cache is not at the posted coordinates, but it's a great place so start looking.
The posted coordinates will take you to a sign. At this sign you will need to gather some information in order to calculate the final location for this cache.
The number of letters in the Second word on the sign X 125 - 224 =ABC
The number of letters in the Fourth word on the sign X 57- 147 = XYZ
The final is located at N 35.09.ABC W 080 42.XYZ
The container is made from 100% recycled materials, not that helps you find it.
The final location may be familiar to some, some not so much. Either way, the hide is different but hopefully less frustrating and still fun.
PLEASE do not destroy the container in the quest for the log. It is designed for easy opening once you figure out how.. PLEASE do not force anything, If you figure out how to open it, It will all be good. As always, Please replace it as found. BYOP
Logic will help you with this.
