Geocache Description:

Come and lend a hand to help the East Lothian Countryside Rangers and Path Wardens.

The Countryside Rangers have requested our help once again to tackle a load of ancient tyres along what we refer to Core Paths 268 and 157. There is also a CITO virtual souvenir awarded to anyone who attends an official CITO event this week.

Where -

CP268 is situated at the western edge of Tranent, just off Elphinstone Road, CP157 runs south from this. Please meet at the given coordinates. There should be enough road-side parking spaces nearby.

When -

Thursday the 26th of April, from 10:00am until 11:30am. If the weather is favourable, there is still work to do and people are willing, we may carry on for longer.

This work is carried out under the East Lothian Countryside Rangers' agreement and by attending you must agree that you are responsible for your own safety. There will be a safety briefing at the start time so please arrive promptly. You will be required to sign a briefing sheet to say that you have heard and understood the safety briefing, so if you arrive late please find myself to catch up! As well as tyres, there will be litter-pickers and bags available for general light litter-picking duties, please only participate to the extent you feel comfortable with!

Please wear sensible clothes and sturdy footwear appropriate for the weather and activity.

This event is held in conjunction with The East Lothian Countryside Rangers, who are very grateful for our help. We welcome all cachers, old and new, local and visiting, so if you're new to caching and would like a hand understanding anything there will be plenty (I hope!) of experienced and friendly people willing to help. Dogs and children are both welcome but must be supervised by an adult at all times.

Please post a "Will Attend" even if you are unsure, so we can get a rough idea of potential numbers. We look forward to seeing you there!
