El Lugar
El Parque Saavedra es un tradicional parque del barrio de Saavedra en la ciudad de Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Actualmente el Parque Saavedra posee 1,6 kilómetros de perímetro, en la superficie del parque existe un colegio estatal y un centro deportivo con una piscina y un grupo de corta palos o boyscouts.
Existe en el parque una calesita y una cancha de bochas así como un galpón utilizado para almacenar las herramientas necesarias para la limpieza y mantenimiento del parque. Desde hace unos años existe un área de juegos y se agregó una bicisenda con varios trazados dentro del parque.
A finales de la década de 1990 se inauguraron en la entrada sobre la calle Pinto dos monumentos con figuras de leones y variadas plantas.
Durante algunos años posteriores a la crisis del 2001 funcionaba una feria de venta de todo tipo de artículos, muchos de los puestos eran de vecinos de la zona, con el tiempo el número de puestos aumentó hasta llegar a cubrir casi toda la perifería del parque. En los últimos años sólo se mantienen puestos temporales (menos de 10) los días jueves (venta de carne, pescado, frutas y verdura) y los fines de semanas puestos de comercio.

Parque Saavedra is a traditional park in the neighborhood of Saavedra in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Currently Saavedra Park has 1.6 kilometers of perimeter, on the surface of the park there is a state school and a sports center with a pool and a group of short sticks or boyscouts.
There is a carousel and a bocce court in the park as well as a shed used to store the necessary tools for cleaning and maintaining the park. Since a few years ago there is a playground and a bike path with several paths within the park was added.
At the end of the 1990s, two monuments with lion figures and various plants were inaugurated at the entrance on Calle Pinto.
During some years after the crisis of 2001, there was a fair selling all kinds of items, many of the positions were from neighbors in the area, over time the number of positions increased to cover almost all the periphery of the park. In recent years only temporary positions (less than 10) have been maintained on Thursday (sale of meat, fish, fruits and vegetables) and weekends trading posts.
