This traditional cache will take you to the places called ‘na Podkatovně’.
Označení na Podkatovně vzniklo celkem logicky, protože katovna se nacházela na kopečku směrem k centru města. V místě, kde je obnovený křížek se říká dodnes "U Křížku". Křížek stával uprostřed mezi čtyřmi mohutnými lípami. Na snímku níže je vidět křížek ještě mezi relativně mladými stromy. Sken historického snímku mi poskytl pan Antonín Fibigr, jemuž touto cestou děkuji. Po konzultaci se svým tatínkem odhadujeme pořízení tohoto snímku kolem roku 1930.
The name ‘na Podkatovně’ was quite logical, because the executioner’s house was on a hill towards the city centre. In a place where the renewed cross is situated is still called "U Křížku" (At the cross). The cross stood in the middle of four mighty lime trees. The picture below shows the cross between relatively young trees. The scan of the historical picture was provided to me by Antonín Fibigr, whom I thank in this way. After consulting with my father, we estimate that this picture was taken around 1930.
Lípy postupně ubývaly díky nasledkům bouřek, svému stáří a postupnému rozšiřování komunikace vedoucí do Sběrných surovin a sběrného dvora. Poslední zmizela ze dne na den cca před třemi lety. Dnes je místo bez mohutných lip poněkud smutné a prázdné. Zatím jsme se dočkali alespoň obnovení křížku a informační cedule. Křížek sice stojí o kousek vedle než stával, ale buďme rádi, že vůbec je.
The limes gradually died out due to the effects of storms, age, and the gradual expansion of the roads leading to the collection yard and collection point. The last disappeared about three years ago. Today, without the mighty limes, the place is rather sad and empty. So far, we've at least achieved a renewed cross and an information sign. The cross stands a bit further away from where the original stood, but let us be happy that it is there at all.
