Un-Lucky 13

Well it is a day later, let’s have some FUN!

Call it lucky, call it un-lucky. Leading up to the big Belle Isle event 13 times has been challenging for your Belle Isle Cachers. Work, family and health has taken nearly all of each of our geocaching time.

Brummelbear continues to battle his 16-month fight with Cancer. Nothing lucky about cancer!
Sadly Leo's battle ended March 17th. Brummelbear, Peepz and Rattrak put on the first Belle Isle event as a way to celebrate the Super Bowl in Detroit. Leo will always be with us here at Belle Isle. RIP Leo!
Rattrak has had many more responsibilities with work which has made for many more hours of work each day, week and month. Lucky to have good work, not so lucky it takes over 80 hours a week for a few months.
Team Rumble continues to be very busy with work and travel. They are continually adding to the family. Lucky to have good work, un-lucky for the time it consumes, very lucky for an expanding family!

Lucky for us, Belle Isle 13 is a reality as for a bit there it looked like it could not have been done. Un-lucky for those that want a ton of new caches, lucky that there will be 13 new caches and all of last year’s caches are freshened up for those who have yet to do all of them.

Lucky for all, we have an event to get together, enjoy stories, food and the company of all in the spring on Belle Isle. Lucky for all the Belle Isle Cachers will provide Hot Dogs, Buns, Condiments and Paper Products. Lucky that cachers will bring their favorite passing dishes for the event.

Call it lucky or un-lucky as we will not be doing our drawing for the new caches. We will have hand outs and with only 13 new caches we will not be loading GPSRs or phones. We will have USB memory sticks to load the file to your computer or tablet that you can then up load your selves.

Lucky we are already talking and working on thoughts on making Detroit - Belle Isle – XIV bigger and better than ever!
Shelter 8 Time: 8:30am meet and greet, 9:00 start the event with cords to the new caches Pot Luck Lunch:11:30 to 1:30 (or until the food is gone)

Please bring your favorite dish, goodies, drinks (soft of course) or snacks to share with all.

Belle Isle is a Michigan State Park so you will need a Recreation Passport, here are the rates:
• $16 - Michigan annual pass (vehicle)(daily passes are no longer available)
• $11 - Michigan annual pass (motorcycles)
• $32 - Non-resident annual pass
• $9 - Non-resident daily pass
