A Fine Pair # 1044 - Budlake

Park up and search out these numbers:

Post Box No. = (EX) A BCD (D)

Formula:

N 50 47. (A+B)(A-C)(A-B-C)
W 003 27. (D-B)(B+B)(A)

The cache is just over a km away, though the walk is pleasant and the views are even pleasanterer!

A 'fun' fact about Budlake to entertain you whilst you're there.

Sir Thomas Acland, 10th Baronet of the Estate at Killerton was a liberal-minded man and was keen on creating better living conditions and opportunities for those who worked for him and who lived on his Estate. He bought and built cottages for his workers to live in. This included post offices and their workers. Around 1870 the first Budlake Post Office opened, complete with one bicycle for the postman.
This first Post Office closed in 1900 and an old gatehouse was converted into the Post Office where it stands today. It quickly became the hub of early 20th Century Budlake Village. The branch grew until it had a shop, could frank parcels, was made a Telegraph Office and eventually a Money Order and Savings Bank Office. But due to decreasing importance it closed as a branch in 1976.

Now the village is home to 'a fine pair'. Things are looking up...
