La Légende
Un des seigneurs du pays désirait avoir une source. Il avait fait forer le sol en plusieurs endroits sans résultat. Belzébuth lui dit : « Vous aurez votre source mais la première créature de Dieu qui y boira m'appartiendra ».« C'est bien, j'accepte vos conditions », lui répondit le seigneur. Aussitôt, Satan fit jaillir la source d'un coup de griffes, puis s'installa à côté. Le lendemain, le seigneur, monté sur un vieux cheval, se présentait devant la source et y faisait boire sa bête. Le diable comprit qu'il était joué. Quand il avait parlé de créature de Dieu, il n'avait pas spécifié que ce serait une créature humaine. Le seigneur riait de sa déconvenue, ce qui redoubla la colère du démon. Celui-ci, tout à coup, arracha le sabre que le cavalier portait à son côté et en asséna un coup terrible sur la croupe du cheval qu'il coupa en deux. Le seigneur ne s'en était pas rendu compte et s'étonnait que sa bête continue à boire. Il se retourna et constata, avec stupéfaction, que l'eau qu'elle avalait ressortait immédiatement par le trou de son intestin coupé. Il gagna son château et donna l'ordre, à ses domestiques, d'aller ramener les deux parties de son cheval. Quand il revint accompagné de ses gens, le cheval avait disparu, Satan aussi.On dit que le cheval est, depuis, enfoui sous la source intermittente, pour l'empêcher de jaillir, qu'il continue à s'abreuver, cependant, par instants, il s'arrête de boire. C'est alors que l'eau commence à monter à la surface du sol.

Intermittent Source
Its intermittency was formerly attributed to an alleged form of siphon. The legend

He turned around and saw with astonishment that the water she was swallowing was immediately coming out of the hole in his cut intestines. He reached his castle and ordered his servants to bring back the two parts of his horse. When he came back with his people, the horse was gone, Satan too. It is said that the horse has since been buried under the intermittent spring, to prevent it from gushing, that it continues to drink, however, at times, it stops drinking. It is then that the water begins to rise to the surface of the ground.
