WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
Be at the resort breakfast room by 9 a.m. Saturday morning.
Event "ends" at 10 p.m.
GOODY BAGS:
One of the favorite traditions at Geochicks is opening goody bags! We will provide the bags this year. The tradition is that you bring one gift for each person and in return, you get a bag filled with gifts other ladies brought. It can be non-caching related. Examples from previous years are personal pathtags, candles, sweets, homemade jewelry, things like that. Plan on about 40 but keep an eye out for how many are attending on this page.
SNACKS:
There will be a community table to put snacks on. Feel free to bring your favorite treat to share! We all like that something sweet, salty, chewy, cheesy, healthy thing to snack on before and after dinner while we play games and catch up with each other.
You are on your own for beverages.
SATURDAY DINNER:
We gather together for dinner Saturday night at the lodge. We typically have pizza and salad but we may change it up this year, however we are definitely keeping the salad. Plan on the food being $5-$7.
PRIZE TABLE:
Another one of my favorites! Everyone will get a token upon check in Saturday evening. When your number is called you pick one prize from the table. We ask that you bring an item or two so everyone gets something. These items are larger items than the goody bag items.
RAFFLE TABLE:
To offset the cost of running this event, we have gotten rid of the donation jar and have been having a raffle table. Items here are donated by you ladies and tickets are purchased for the chance of getting your ticket drawn. 100% of these proceeds goes toward putting on this event. Any remaining funds will be saved for Geochicks 15. Items donated previously have included beautiful handmade quilts, walking sticks, wine and cheese baskets, and dog/cat overs baskets.
GAME:
After dinner and opening the goody bags, we hope you stay and play the games we have planned. We are letting Pathtag Bingo rest his year but have something fun in its place.
One of the games requires a white elephant gift. Don’t worry, you don’t have to play! To participate, bring a wrapped item from around your house that you’ve been wanting to get rid of - that is PERFECT. I’m going to raid my for-the-garage-sale box and let one of you ladies have my treasure at your home.
LOGO:
Laura, a Geochicks Pioneer, has outdone herself with this year’s logo. Feel free to use it on your goody bag item.
IRON-ON LOGO:
Gemmy (Joy) will be offering iron-on logos with personalization for purchase before the event. You’ll need to have your own shirt/bag/hat to put it on. Preorder through her please. $3 for a small logo (3”?) and $5 for a large logo (8”) or order at the event for $5 and $8 respectively. Check the comments section to see if Gemmy has updates about the availability at the event. These need to be picked up and paid for at the event, not mailed to you.
