Geocache Description:

This is a NON-CHALLENGE Cache. The Cache IS at the Posted Coordinates but you SHOULD complete the challenge before logging a find.
This is a challenge - it is not meant to be easy. This challenge is not going to be for all cachers - but then again, that's why its called a challenge!

This is a series of challenge caches along Fairfax County's Cross County Trail.

You should complete the necessary qualifications of ACCUMULATING 49 POINTS. This challenge may only be logged once regardless of how many different ways you may rack up 49 points.

Because this challenge is too complex for Groundspeak to understand, you may find and log this cache without meeting the challenge but be careful - you may end up with a string of DNFs as a consequence.

DOMINO CHALLENGE

As geocachers, we love accomplishments. Challenge Caches give us that goal to achieve. Before you lies The Challenge Cache Trail. There are caches for the newbies and veterans out here but this is no power trail.

The Challenge

To qualify for and be able to log a find on this challenge cache you should meet the following requirements:

  • You should accumulate 49 points based upon the below criteria.

PGC Checker

This Cache Hide

This cache container IS at the posted coordinates.

Pay attention to all details/attributes of the listing for your clues.

Per the new rules, the difficulty rating is based on the Challenge and the terrain is based on this cache. Good luck and start planning your adventures now. The rating for this cache is:

4.0/2.5

You should create a Domino chain at least 49 pieces long. Every piece is formed by one cache.
Points on left of the piece are formed by Difficulty and hidden Day of month.
Points on the right of the piece are formed by Terrain and found Day of month.
Example: A cache D1/T2.5 hidden on day 27 of any month and year and found by you on 03 day of any month makes piece [1.0/27|2.5/03]. This piece can be followed by any cache with difficulty 2.5 hidden on day 3 of any month. And so on.

Rules for the challenge caches in this series:
  1. As with all caches, the decision as to whether a log is valid rests solely with the cache owner.
  2. We have provided a verification tool. It might not be perfect and is therefore not the final authority (see #1).
  3. You may sign the log before completing the challenge. If you have do this, please use a "Write note" log to record your find and then a "Found it" log once you have completed the challenge.
  4. Your log does not need to contain enough information to prove you have met the challenge - that can be determined from the Project-GC checker. I suggest you use the verification checker on this cache page to prove you have met the challenge. Please do not provide the entire output of the checker as it can sometimes be quite verbose.
  5. I may double-check your qualifications with the Project-GC checker after you have logged your find.
  6. Any finds that do not qualify for this challenge or lack a signature on logsheet will be deleted without notice.

ABOUT THE CROSS COUNTY TRAIL:

This cache is not on the trail but is easy to access from the the Cross County Trail (CCT). There are over 50 caches along the 40 mile trail. This is no power trail as many of the hides are different in type, size, difficulty and terrain. If you want to know where to park or get food or a bathroom along the trail you need to check out CCT (CCT - Welcome to the Cross County Trail). It is loaded with valuable information including maps of the entire CCT.

Permission for the placement of this cache has been given by the Fairfax County Park Authority

Night caching not allowed.
