Mahonia aquifolium (Oregon grape) is a species of flowering plant in the family Berberidaceae, native to western North America, from Southeast Alaska to Northern California, and eastern Alberta to central New Mexico. It is an evergreen shrub, which can grow to more than 3 feet tall and 5 feet wide, with pinnate leaves up to 12 inches long. The leathery leaves resemble holly and the stems and twigs have a thickened, corky appearance.
The flowers, borne in dense clusters in late spring, are yellow, and are followed by spherical dark dusty blue berries, which give rise to the common name "Oregon grape".
As for the cache, you seek a plastic, 10 ounce container, with logbook and a little bit of swag. BYOP. Plenty of parking near GZ.
Another hide from georick402. None of the local cachers have no idea who I am, but I am the number one hider in the state of Maryland, with over 1,100 ACTIVE hides. There are a lot of cachers in my home state, and my neighboring state of Virginia, who are trying to find ALL of my hides. It helps that I get fellow cachers from other states, who are willing to lend a helping hand, to make it just a little more complicated for them to accomplish that task.
A very special "THANK YOU" goes to your local cacher, Chickadee Girl, who has offered to maintain this cache as needed.
Keep searching, have fun, and BE SAFE!!!
