Geocache Description:

Oh No!

Middle Road, turning into Locust Street spans 20 miles, (AND ALSO CONTINUING SOUTH INTO EAST DAVENPORT), begins in northeast Bettendorf and ends in western Davenport. It is a thoroughfare for traffic in Scott County. This is a FTF Power Trail, beginning at the start of Middle Road. A "Power Trail" is a series of at least 50 geocaches within close proximity. A "FTF Power Trail" means that if you are the "first to find" (i.e. the 'FTF') of a cache in this series, PLEASE 'pay it forward' by placing the next cache along this trail, and do so within two weeks of getting the FTF. Keep in mind that some areas will be higher muggle traffic than others, so you may have to be creative in your hides, or may have to dive slightly off course to put out a hide.

THIS IS 3 STAGE MULTI-CACHE.

There are no containers at the first two stages.

It is LOG ONLY cache, so you will need to bring a pen.

A geochecker is provided for the final coordinates only.

Park legally and safely, and keep a watchful eye for muggles at the final.

Perform the steps below to find the cache.

Step 1. From the starting coordinates, proceed 105 meters at a bearing of 12 degrees, where you should be able to spot a word containing 6 really faded-red (now more orange-ish-looking) letters (the first letter is a ‘W’).

Step 2. Convert each of the 6 letters found in Step 1 to their numeric equivalent (using the A=26,....,Z=1 method), and add up the total of those 6 numbers. Then use a calculator that can hold a LARGE number of digits, or turn your smartphone in 'landscape' mode to allow lots of digits, and... Multiply that totaled up number by 434,996,726,651.3263 to get the next stage's coordinates, dropping any decimals from the result. (Insert these characters ('N', ' ', '.', 'W') in the proper places in that large multiplication result for readability.)

Step 3. Proceed to the coordinates calculated in Step 2, where you should be able to spot a white sign containing 3 words containing RED letters (and also an ‘&’ character, ignore the ‘&’). USE the FIRST WORD and LAST WORD ONLY (10 letters in total).

Step 4. Convert each of the 10 letters found in Step 3 to their numeric equivalent (using the A=26,....,Z=1 method), then add up the total of those 10 numbers. Again, using a calculator that can hold a LARGE number of digits, or turn your smartphone in 'landscape' mode to allow more digits: Multiply that totaled up number by 335,954,870,173.7236 to get the coordinates for the final cache, dropping any decimals from the result. (Insert these characters ('N', ' ', '.', 'W') in the proper places in that large multiplication result for readability.)
