This cache is located along a technical portion of Whiskey Ridge, an incredibly scenic ridge stretching from The Thumb formation down to Tram Tower 2. Sections on either end can be scrambled, but REACHING THIS CACHE WILL REQUIRE CLIMBING GEAR. There is no climbing more difficult than 5.6 on the ascent, but there is an annoying amount of loose rock along the entire length of the ridge, so be very careful and mindful of what you step on and what you pull on. You can reach this cache from either direction along the ridge. Both directions have some climbing and rappelling. If you have an adventurous spirit and a sensible mind, continue all the way to Whiskey Peak, doing two rappels and a spicy downclimb in the process (if you come from the south). Or, retrace your route back to Tram Tower 2.
The approach, the climb, and the descent all make for a long and adventurous day. Plan wisely before attempting this and do your research. Plan for a full day to do the whole ridge. And if you feel inclined, bring an extra cache just in case this one goes missing, though it should not. I'd hate for anyone to get all the way there for a DNF.
Have fun!
