Geocache Description:

CONGRATULATION to my first and favorite FTF DinaWorks AND Darth Leviosa A cool three part series - or Cache just one for fun. You could easily complete in less than a couple hours. It mixes a local history lesson with a few nostalgic songs and the fun of finding some not your average cache. If you walk the series in order, each will reveal a little more to finely answer the question Why do all the streets on the south side of town join into one road to create the S-Curves of Mt Prospect?

This is my very first hide. I am so excited. If you love this hide - give me a favorite heart! I did my first hide here at this host because of the historic value to the locals. It is one of the still operating generational businesses in Mt Prospect, and it is here that the conversion of the SCurve begins joining Main Street and Hwy 83. Just across the rail road tracks and train station, this building started out in 1927 as a gas station owned by John P. Moehling. In 1983, the building was then converted into the family-owned business we know still today. This should be a difficult find and frustrating for newbies but rewarding all the same. After you find this Cache walk or drive across the tracks and stay on Main street and you are headed to the second location. Oh that is right you have a GPS. Lets see if it helps you with this find? Moahhhaaa. I think I am so sneaky. The owner, Tom is in on this first hide and helped me place it. He has given his solemn oath that he will not tell where the first cache is hidden! I am hoping this is super hard to find and the reward will be great. FTF The first to find gets to keep a swag FTF Geo stone and log a traveling FTF geocoin plus, there are a few extra swag to trade for future finders. I will keep adding some periodically too to keep the geo brand alive. HISTORY PART ONE: The story goes; that Mr. William Busse, one of the founders of our great city, Mount Prospect, himself was the architect of the S-Curved highway. They say he orchestrated the designed to collect all the main streets that navigated people around the city to collect at one intersection, Lincoln, Main St, Elmhurst, and Hwy Route 83 and curve north to the rail station on Hwy 14. The object was to control the traffic flow and force Mt Prospect Citizens to drive by the businesses that he owned. As you walk this S-Curve 3Part Series, you will learn if this is true. Sit in two of the smallest and most unknown parks in Mount Prospect, and find (I hope) some of the most interesting if not difficult stealth hides in your recent memory. Challenging.
