Note: Coords will take you to the location where Burke Lake Park is distributing Passport Sheets for the different cache groups. NoVAGO members will be located at the Camp Site location on the Northern section of the park. Burke Lake has not provided the exact location as of yet. Please inquire at the posted coordinates by proceeding to the ice cream stand.
Burke Lake Park wants to get you off the couch and onto the trails. To do this they have placed 10 beginner style caches, 10 intermediate ones, and 15 advanced hides. NoVAGO is turning out to help Burke Lake introduce geocaching to new players, and provide some intro level instruction on the art of the cache.
Caches will be active for only one day, and they will not be listed on Geocaching. However those who find all the caches and return a fully stamped Passport back to the park will receive prize packs. Be warned, prize packs will only be given out while they last. So get out of the house and into the great outdoors to work off that Thanksgiving feast.
Classes for beginner level cachers conducted by NoVAGO members will take place on the half hour starting at 10:30 and ending at 1:30. You don't have to sit through a class to participate in the adventure, but all are welcome to attend.
