Avtocesta A1 Šentilj-Srmin, (imenovana tudi 'slovenika') na osi severovzhod - jugozahod Slovenije, je dolga 245,3 kilometrov. A1 povezuje večja slovenska mesta Maribor, Slovensko Bistrico, Celje, Ljubljano, Vrhniko, Logatec, Postojno in Koper.
Avtocesta A1 je sestavni del petega evropskega prometnega koridorja (Lyon-Kijev), ki povezuje Lyon, Milano, Benetke, Trst, Koper, Postojno, Ljubljano, Celje, Maribor, Lendavo, Budimpešto, Kijev. Prav tako poteka v smereh evropskih cest z oznako E70, E57 in E59.
Zaklad je postavljen na odseku Vrhnika - Postojna, ki je bil zgrajen najprej (1972)
The A1 motorway, also known as Slovenika, is 245.3 km long, connecting Šentilj (at the Austrian border) and Koper/Capodistria (on the shores of the Adriatic Sea) and further to Srmin. It passes several important Slovenian cities, including Maribor, Celje and Ljubljana all the way to the Slovenian Littoral and Koper, with its important port.
The A1 motorway is part of the fifth European traffic corridor (Lyon-Kiev), which connects, Lyon, Milan, Venice, Trieste, Koper, Ljubljana, Celje, Maribor, Lendava, Budapest and Kiev.
