Since then, the vegetation has more or
less overgrown the path between #3 and #4. That's why I’ve
increased the terrain rating for #4 to 4.

Στον
γύρο θα βρείτε
δέκα κουτάκια,
όλα τύπου petling.
Οχτώ traditional και
ένα multi με δύο
κουτάκια, ένα
στο Στάδιο 1 και
ένα στο Φινάλε.
Παραπάνω
υπάρχει Μπόνους.
Για να βρείτε
το Μπόνους πρέπει
να ξέρετε στο
τέλος, ποια
χρώματα έχουν
τα βιδωτά καπάκια
που κλείνουν
τα κουτάκια!
Σημειώστε ποια
χρώματα έχετε
βρει!
Κάθε
κουτάκι βρίσκεται
στο έδαφος κάτω
από τον πετρόχτιστο
τοίχο. Ένα μαύρο
τρίγωνο δείχνει
πού θα το βρείτε
κάτω κάτω στο
έδαφος.
Λοιπόν,
ψάξτε μόνο κάτω
από τον τοίχο
και χρησιμοποιήστε
τη φωτογραφία
βοήθειας για
να μην καταστρέφονται
οι τοίχοι!

και της Άννας
Μπούρα, που
τις ξέρω καλά
και που ξέρουν
τα μονοπάτια
πεζοπορίας
της ανατολικής
Κρήτης, όπως
κανένας άλλος.
Η περιγραφή τους
αρχίζει έτσι:
«Αυτή η πεζοπορία
είναι μια καλή
αρχή για τις
περιηγήσεις
σας αν δεν είστε
σίγουροι για
την φυσική σας
κατάσταση. Τα
πρώτα 15 λεπτά
αποτελούν μια
εξουθενωτική
ανάβαση, αλλά
μετά από αυτό
ακολουθεί
ένας ήρεμος
περίπατος ...»
Πραγματικά
χρειάζεται
ολόκληρος ο
γύρος μόνο μιάμιση
ή δύο ώρες. Όμως,
θέλει λίγο
παραπάνω για να
βρείτε τα κουτάκια
και να απολαύσετε
την ωραία θέα
στα βουνά και
στην θάλασσα.

“Walled
Trails around Pines“
Ten
geocaches – all of them petling – are marking the trail:
Eight traditionals and one multi with two petlings (one at Stage 1
and one at the Final).
On
top there is a Bonus: To find the Bonus, at the end you should know
all the colours of the caps closing the petlings! Make you a note of
the colour at each cache!
Each
petling is placed on ground level under the wall. A black triangular
sign on the wall shows you where to search on the bottom.
So,
search only on ground level beneath the walls and use the given
spoiler pic for providing no more destroying of the walls!
I took
this walk from the book „Circular Walks & Gorges in East
Crete“ by Caris Gallos & Anne Boura. I know both of them
and these ladies are most competent to introduce East Crete to those
who are interested in walking. The description of this trails starts
with these sentences: „This walk makes a nice beginning if you
are not sure how fit you are. The first 15 mins involves a strenuous
climb, but after that it is a pleasant stroll ...“.
Indeed
you may need about 1½ or 2 hours to follow the trails. But
some additional time will be needed to search and find the caches and
to enjoy the great views up to the mountains and down to the sea.

“Entlang
alter Mauern rund um Pines“
Zehn
Dosen – alles Petlinge – markieren diese Runde: Acht
Tradis und beim neunten Cache – einem Multi – kommt noch
der Petling bei Stage 1 dazu.
Dazu
gibt es einen Bonus. Um den Bonus zu
finden, müsst Ihr am Ende wissen, welche Farben die
Schraubverschlüsse der zehn Petlinge haben! Schreibt Euch die
Farben auf!
Jeder
Petling liegt ganz unten am Boden unterhalb der Mauer. Eine schwarze,
dreieckige Markierung an der Mauer zeigt jeweils an, wo er unten zu
finden ist.
Also
nur ganz unten suchen und das Spoilerbild benutzen, damit die Mauern
nicht weiter verfallen!
Diese
Runde habe ich dem Wanderführer „Circular Walks &
Gorges in East Crete“ von Caris Gallos & Anne Boura, die
ich beide gut kenne und die sich in Ostkreta wie kaum ein anderer
auskennen, entnommen. Die Beschreibung beginnt wie folgt: „Diese
Wanderung kann ein schöner Beginn für das Wandern in
Ostkreta sein, wenn man sich nicht sicher ist, wie fit man ist. Die
erste Viertelstunde geht es stramm bergauf, aber danach ist es ein
angenehmer Spaziergang ...“ (Übersetzung: fio4ever).
In der
Tat kann man den Weg gut in anderthalb bis zwei Stunden gehen. Doch
werdet Ihr sicherlich noch etwas Zeit zugeben müssen, um die
Dosen zu suchen und die Aussicht auf Berge und Meer zu genießen.
