Oct. 2017 was the first time Vader&zoon (the Netherlands) came to Lebanon. We noticed that several important places in the country (especially in the capital) were named after one of Lebanon’s former Prime Ministers Rafic Hariri: airport, hospital, university, and so on. We even held our own little Event at a monument of Hariri! After having found several caches in Beirut, we wanted to leave one ourselves. We chose to make it a Mystery cache (our first one!) and make Rafic Hariri the topic. By doing this, we are not expressing any assessment of Hariri as a person, nor are we saying anything of his political life. In order to get the location of the cache one needs to answer the questions below and do the simple maths.
- How many cabinets has Hariri head during his tenure? = A
- Hariri’s assassination led to important political changes. What was the process or movement of the protest development called? Take the first of these two words, determine the word value (a=1, b=2, c=3, etc.) of the first word and add the digits up to one digit (e.g.: ‘protest’ = 113 = 5) = B
- Hariri was a close friend of a European President. Take the family name of this person and add the digits of the word value up to one digit; this digit minus 5 = C
- The word value of the first name of the successor of Hariri’s second tenure as Prime Minister, added up to one digit; this digit minus 2 = D
- What was the age of Hariri at his death? Add the digits up to one digit; this digit plus 2 = E
- Digits of the day of the month on which Hariri was assassinated added up to one digit (e.g. 27 March = 9) minus 3 = F
- The number of children Hariri had plus 2 = G
- The year of the end of Hariri’s first tenure minus the year of the beginning of this first tenure = H
- Place of birth of Hariri, word value added up to one digit = I
- Year of birth of Hariri added up to one digit = J

Parking places are around, but you need to be lucky in order to find one. Please use stealth and be careful; as almost everywhere in Beirut muggles can be around. This cache is maintained by a local cacher for us (for which we are grateful!), so if anything is wrong, please let us know!
