Trochu z histórie Rajeckych Teplic.
Prva pisomna zmienka o obci pochadza z roku 1376 (v listine uhorskeho krala Ludovita Velkeho), kedy miestne soltysstvo vlastnila rodina Baloghovcov. Uzemie sucasnej obce vsak bolo osidlovane a obyvane este davno predtym, co dokazuju sidliska puchovskej kultury z pociatku rimskeho veku a nasledne aj povelkomoravske sidliska. Rajecke Teplice sa zacali vyvijat ako kupelna obec v 17. storoci za cias Thurzovcov a striedavo v priebehu dalsich storoci zaznamenali mnohe vzostupy i pady. Roku 1959 získali Rajecke Teplice statut kupelneho miesta, ktory vymedzil uzemie kupelov a zarucil ochranu liecivych pramenov.

A bit of history of Rajecke Teplice. The first mention of the village is from 1376 (in the letter of Hungarian king Luis the Great) when the local municipality was owned by the Balogh family. However, the territory of the present village was settled and inhabited long ago before the settlements of the Puchov culture from the beginning of the Roman age and subsequently by the Post-Great Moravian settlements. Rajecke Teplice began to develop as a communal village in the 17th century under the Thurzo family, and in the course of other centuries, they have seen a lot of ups and downs. In 1959, Rajecke Teplice acquired the status of a spa, which defined the area of the baths and guaranteed the protection of healing springs.

Hydrogeologicka struktura termalnych vod Rajeckych Teplic patri medzi otvorene struktury s infiltracnou,akumulacnou a vyverovou oblastou. Vyverová oblast je polozakryta, kolektory termalnych vod su prekryte kvarterom, ciastocne paleogenom. Podľa teploty vod struktura patri medzi nizkotermalne (teplota vod do 39°C), s vyraznym Ca-Mg-HCO typom chemizmu, s mineralizaciou od 500 do 800 mg/l a s nizkym obsahom CO2 (do 300 mg/1). Vyverova oblast termalnych vod sa nachadza v Rajeckych Tepliciach, s centrom medzi Kupelnym domom, liečebným domom Mala Fatra, Rajcankou a Kuneradkou. Je tvorena vapencami a dolomitmi chocského prikrovu, ktory sa nachadza v prikrovovej pozicii na slienitych vapencoch a slienoch kriedoveho veku kriznanskeho prikrovu. Plocha vyverovej oblasti je 0,08 km2.
Vzacny liecivy pramen BJ-22 vyviera priamo v kupelnom parku v Rajeckych Tepliciach. Hladina vody sa pohybuje v rozpati 0,94 – 2,3 m od roviny terenu. Kolisanie hladiny je podmienene vyuzivanim termalnej vody pre potreby kupelov z ostatnych zdrojov. Voda ma osvedcenie o vhodnosti vyuzivania na pitne kury. Svojim mierne zásaditým pH, s hodnotou 7,44 prispieva k detoxikacii tela a tým k prevencii proti civilizacnym ochoreniam. Kedze ma nizky obsah sodika, je vhodna aj na prevenciu srdcovo-cievnych chorob.
