La Cova de Sa Cometa dels Morts es uno de los lugares de enterramiento más conocidos de la época talayótica. Puede visitarse siguiendo el itinerario señalizado Camino de Sa Cometa dels Morts, aunque la entrada no es fácilmente visible y hay que estar atento para no pasar de largo.
Este lugar era conocido ya desde el siglo XVIII pero no fue excavado hasta el año 1945 por el padre Cristóbal Veny, arqueólogo y presbítero reconocido por su destacada labor científica en esta disciplina.
Se hallaron dos fases de enterramiento de épocas diferentes: en la última sala los restos correspondieron a la edad del Bronce y en la parte central al período final del talayótico, ya en la Edad del Hierro. A esta época pertenecen los hallazgos más llamativos: figuras de bronce, tintinábulos (campanillas) decorados con bandas lineales, un disco decorado con brotes de uva, otro decorado con motivos geométricos, una punta de flecha, varias espadas, diademas y collares, una doble hacha y dos representaciones de gallos (únicos en Mallorca), entre otras cosas. Todos estos hallazgos forman parte de la colección exhibida en el Museo de Lluc.

The Cave of Sa Cometa dels Morts is one of the most famous burial places of the Talayotic period. It can be visited following the route signposted Sa Cometa dels Morts, although the entrance is not easily visible and you must be careful not to pass by.
This place was known since the 18th century but was not excavated until 1945 by Father Cristóbal Veny, an archaeologist and presbyter recognized for his outstanding scientific work in this discipline.
Two burial phases of different periods were found: in the last room the remains corresponded to the Bronze age and in the central part to the final period of the Talayotic, already in the Iron Age. At this time belong the most striking features: bronze figures, tintinábulos (bells) decorated with linear bands, a disc decorated with grape shoots, another decorated with geometric motifs, an arrowhead, several swords, diadems and necklaces, a double ax and two representations of roosters (unique in Mallorca), among other things. All these findings are part of the collection exhibited at the Lluc Museum.
