Originally from France, Charley Farrero has worked as a ceramic artist since 1972. In some of his early one-of-a-kind pieces, he incorporates slip cast objects, hand-built additions, grout, ceramic shards,and commercial tiles in order to create framed wall pieces. He has had many solo and group exhibitions in Canada.

He has been President of the Canadian Craft Council and Chairperson of the Saskatchewan Craft Council. He has served on the Saskatchewan Arts Board.

He has received many awards, including the Saskatchewan Lieutenant Governor's Award for Innovation in the Arts.

He has worked in Canada, France, Mexico, Chile, and China. He now lives in Meacham, Saskatchewan where he has his studio.

In his recent body of work, he has created ceramic pieces that address androgynous forms as vessels or sculptures. Porcelain, stoneware, earthenware clays are used with several firing methods.

Originaire de France, Charley Farrero travaille comme artiste céramique depuis 1972.

Dans certaines de ses premières pièces uniques, il intègre des objets coulés, additions fabriquées à la main, coulis, fragments de céramique, carreaux commerciaux afin de créer des pièces en paroi encadrées.

Il a eu de nombreuses expositions individuelles et collectives au Canada. Il a été président du Canadian Craft Council et président du Saskatchewan Craft Council. Il a siégé au Saskatchewan Arts Board. Il a reçu de nombreux prix, comme celui du prix du lieutenant-gouverneur de la Saskatchewan pour l'innovation dans les arts.

Charley a travaillé au Canada, en France, au Mexique, au Chili, en Chine. Il vit maintenant à Meacham, en Saskatchewan, où il a son studio. Dans son travail récent, il a créé des travaux en céramique qui traitent de l'androgyne dans des formes uniques ou composées.

La porcelaine, le grès, la faïence sont les argiles utilisées avec plusieurs procédés de cuissons.
