Geocache Description:

Life in Texas in the 1800's was dangerous. Settler's homes often served as makeshift forts since people largely had to fend for themselves.

This cache is at the location of one such settler's "fort", which stood from 1828-1842. Though no sign of the fort remains, sit a spell at the nearby picnic tables and ponder the hardships that people 150 years ago had to endure.
