The cache is located in the Smith Mountain Lake State Park, Huddleston, Virginia. Be sure to visit the Visitor Center and Discovery Center to learn about the area's varied history. While geocaching in this beautiful state park take advantage of the opportunity to hike, picnic, bike, camp, and enjoy a variety of water related activities. The cache has been placed with the permission and in compliance with all requirements for placing a cache in a Virginia State Park.
Maps can be obtained at the Visitor Center and are on display at the many kiosks throughout the park. Park at the Turtle Island Trail Head parking lot. A 3/4 mile walk on the Turtle Island Trail will take you to Turtle Island and the hiding place of the island's turtle cache. The island is accessible by a foot bridge. Turtle Island is located at navigational Buoy R-18 on Smith Smith mountain Lake. Please rehide cache to avoid vandalism.
