Geocache Description:

Welcome to this Virtual Reward Geocache. The first one to be published in the UK after their issue by Groundspeak. Penshaw Monument is a great landmark , built in 1844, is a half-size replica of the Temple of Hephaestus in Athens and can be seen for miles around. It's one of Sunderland's best-loved landmarks and even appears on the badge of Sunderland Football Club. When it comes into view I always know I'm almost home. Now it's your turn to take a climb to the top and gather some info.

This is what you will need to do to log this cache ... Find the information plaque that's on the side of the monument. Just behind the plaque is a stone that has the letters AG carved into it. This is your starter stone number 1....now counting horizontally from the right count the number of stones it takes you to get around the monument and back to the information plaque again. This is the first number you will need.To get the second number you will need, go to the metal door and count the number of vertical bars going down, this is your second number. To get your third and final number needed to log this cache, count the number of flood lights that light the monument up at night. Please Email us with the answer - do not post here even if encrypted. If you would like to provide one, we would appreciate a photo (that doesn't give the game away)
