Geocache Description:

Julius Pierpont Patches was a much-beloved clown star of a kid's television program The J.P. Patches Show. The show ran from 1958 to 1981 and if you grew up in the Northwest during those years you are doubtlessly familiar with this character as well his girlfriend, the most beautiful woman in the City Dump, Getrude.

This statue "Late for the Interurban" is a tribute to the show and was built with money raised by fans and local businesses. It complements the earlier sculpture "Waiting for the Interurban" just down the block.

What's that you ask? How does any of this relate to Geocaching? Well... it just so happens that one of the sponsors of the sculpture was Groundspeak whose offices are very close by. Our favorite web address - geocaching.com is on one of the bricks on the ground near the sculpture along with a tracking code. The television set is also trackable.

To claim credit for this virtual you must message me:

  • The code on the trackable brick (code starts with JP).
  • The tracking code on the television set (code starts with IC).

You must also take a recent picture of your GPS or your thumb in the TV frame and attach it to your log.

All logs failing to meet these requirements will be deleted.
