Der Schloßberg in Graz bildet mit 123 Metern Höhe, ausgehend vom Grazer Hauptplatz, den höchsten natürlichen Punkt der Stadt und bietet einen
360° Rundblick über die Stadt Graz und deren Grenzen hinaus.
Das Zifferblatt bzw. Uhrwerk ist auch sehr interessant, schaut es euch mal genau an. Euch wird hier sicher etwas auffallen?? Der Kern des Grazer Uhrturms stammt vermutlich aus dem 13. Jahrhundert.
Erste Nennungen des Turms als Teil der Festungsanlage finden sich um 1265. 1560 wurde er in seine heutige Form gebracht. An jeder der vier Seitenflächen des Turmes befindet sich ein großes Zifferblatt mit einem Durchmesser von mehr als fünf Metern. Sie wurden im Jahr 1712 in Freskotechnik angebracht. Über den Zifferblättern führt ein hölzerner Wehrgang um den Turm, von dem aus die Feuerwächter die ganze Innenstadt überblicken konnten.

The Grazer Uhrturm is one of the sights in Graz and is the landmark Graz. This can be reached via different ways. On the one hand, you can easily reach the glass castle or the Schlossbergbahn. For the more sporty, there are more than 260 steps up the mountain, or else several paths, including the Karmeliterplatz and the Wickenburggasse on the north side of the Schloßberg.

The dial or clockwork is very interesting, look at it. You will surely notice something here? The core of the Graz clock tower probably dates back to the 13th century.
The first mentions of the tower as part of the fortress are found around 1265. In 1560 it was brought into its present form. On each of the four side faces of the tower is a large dial with a diameter of more than five meters. They were installed in 1712 in Freskotechnik. Above the dials, a wooden walkway leads around the tower, from which the fire guards could survey the entire inner city.
