Syntagma Square, also known as "Constitution Square," is the central square of Athens.
It is situated in front of the 19th-century Old Royal Palace, which has housed the Greek Parliament since 1934.
Syntagma Square holds great historical and social significance and is at the heart of both commercial activities and Greek politics.
The name "Syntagma" also encompasses the neighborhood that surrounds the square.
The Presidential Guard, known as the "Evzones," , is a ceremonial infantry unit responsible for guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Presidential Mansion in Athens, Greece.
This unit is notable as the last remaining group of Evzones in the Hellenic Army and is closely associated with the traditional Evzone uniform, which has its origins in the attire worn by the «Κlephts» during the Greek War of Independence. The most distinctive item in this uniform is the "fustanella."
Of particular interest is the Changing of the Guard ceremony which takes place in front of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, located in a landscaped area in front of the Parliament Building. The two guards, known as "Evzones," are replaced by two new guards every hour, executing their movements with absolute precision and synchronization. On national holidays and Sundays, a formal Changing of the Guard ceremony involving 120 Evzones occurs at 11 am.

Η πλατεία Συντάγματος βρίσκεται στο κεντρικότερο σημείο των Αθηνών, απέναντι από τα Παλαιά Ανάκτορα, τη σημερινή έδρα της Βουλής των Ελλήνων.
Η πλατεία Συντάγματος είναι η πιο σημαντική πλατεία της σύγχρονης Αθήνας τόσο από ιστορική όσο και από κοινωνική σκοπιά, στην καρδιά της εμπορικής δραστηριότητας και της ελληνικής πολιτικής.
Με τον ονομασία Σύνταγμα συνήθως αναφέρεται όλη η ευρύτερη περιοχή που περιβάλλει την πλατεία.
Η Προεδρική Φρουρά "Εύζωνες", είναι μια τελετουργική μονάδα πεζικού που φυλάει το Μνημείο του Άγνωστου Στρατιώτη και το Προεδρικό Μέγαρο στην Αθήνα.
Η μονάδα διακρίνεται ως η τελευταία μονάδα Ευζώνων στον Ελληνικό Στρατό και συνδέεται στενά με την παραδοσιακή στολή των αγωνιστών στον πόλεμο του 1821.
Το πιο χαρακτηριστικό στοιχείο αυτής της στολής είναι η "φουστανέλα".
Ιδιαίτερο ενδιαφέρον παρουσιάζει η Αλλαγή Φρουράς μπροστά στο Μνημείο του Αγνώστου Στρατιώτη που βρίσκεται σε διαμορφωμένο χώρο μπροστά από το κτίριο της Βουλής, ακριβώς απέναντι από την ανατολική πλευρά της πλατείας Συντάγματος επί της λεωφόρου Αμαλίας. Οι δύο φρουροί του μνημείου, οι Εύζωνες, αντικαθίστανται από δύο νέους φρουρούς κάθε μία ώρα με απόλυτης ακρίβειας συγχρονισμένες κινήσεις. Στις εθνικές εορτές και τις Κυριακές, το τυπικό της αλλαγής της φρουράς πραγματοποιείται από 120 Εύζωνες στις 11 π.μ.
