The pennine tower opened in 1965, it provided a restaurant and an observation deck offering views across the surrounding countryside and coast.
It would be brilliant to have a virtual cache at the top of the tower, however (at time of placing) you are 29 years too late. The tower closed to the public in 1989, it seems unlikely that it will ever open again, which seems a real shame.
However in a similar(ish) way, we didn't expect virtual caches to come back, and they did (sort of!) so here it is. . . .
This cache will require you to see the tower close up and surrounded by the service station and car park, like many thousands of people see every day. But also to see the tower from a slightly further distance surrounded by trees and a country lane, a view few people will see. Enjoy!
To log this virtual cache

You need to get up close to the tower by standing at N 53° 57.690' W 002° 45.634. Once there you need to look for some machines: Question - What sort of machine is machine number three and in which country was it made? (While stood in front of machine 3, look above and to the right)

You then need to walk to N 53° 57.486' W 002° 45.715'. To do this walk out of the access gate, turn right then almost immediately left and walk approx 4 mins down 'White Carr Lane'. At the coords you should get a view of the tower across the field, see example photos. The hedge was cut in December 2018 which made the view clearer, but it has now grown back again, you can still see it though (just!). Include something which makes the photo unique to you, such as a gps, travelbug, yourself (face optional). . . .etc.
